....And I had SO MUCH FUN!

There weren't as many cosplayers as Wai-con, but about 40% of the people where in cosplay, and most of them where really good because they where there for the competition. I went up on the sunday with my friends; I went as Riza Hawkeye from Full Metal Alchemist, and my friend went as Ed. She was whining about halfway through the day because people kept asking for pictures (We where the only FMA cosplayers up there) and I just laughed at her, because at Wai-con she got cranky because no one recognised her. She was pretty smug about the fact that no-one knew who I was, though.

I saw the most FREAKING AWESOME Kingdom Hearts Cloud, she had like every single detail, boots, buckles, shoulder spauldron, EVERYTHING, it was freaking incredible but I don't think we managed to get a picture. Which sucked because she was INCREDIBLE. She even had the vinnie-fingers on her gloves and the tattered cloak and aw god seriously she was just SO COOL.

We didn't see as many Naruto and Bleach cosplayers as I saw at Wai-con, but I guess thats because Nova is more about sci-fi and stuff. There where about 5 Dr Who's running around, 2 storm troopers and a shitload of asian lolita's. I swear I saw half of the lolita/punk stuff on ebay as well...

We had such a great time, we went in for the Kamehameha competition which was freaking AWESOME, two of the guys decided to do the fusion dance which was hilarious. The final winner was really cool as well; in the semi's he powered up to Super Saiyan first, and in the finals he did a spirit bomb XD

We had so many people wanting pictures it was insane, I gave up keeping my gun in my bag and just tucked it into the small of my back so I could whip it out. (That was really more character-accurate anyway, because I'm sure Riza has a back holster.)

I was really proud of my wig; its the first time I've ever styled a wig and it turned out really well. I was a bit worried about my hair peeking through, like at the front and stuff, but the wig didn't wriggle around too much (mostly because of all the bobby pins!) The costume was great, I bought it off qqcosplay but unfortunately I've been a little too lazy lately, so I didn't really sit down throughout the con at all. The wig gave me a bit of a headache though, because I had to squish it onto my head so none of my hair was visible.

OH! How could I forget?! I saw the most FREAKING AWESOME group EVER! They had a Goku, a Vegeta, Andrroids 17 + 18, Bulma and Mr Popo; he painted himself and everything. They ran around as this big DBZ group and I was stunned because all of their costumes where so accurate and clearly made by them and they just looked so freaking cool, the androids where related I think and they even cut and dyed their hair for it! Everything was so accurate, they kept getting asked for photos all the time it was so cool.

Also, the announcer guy for the cosplay comp (John? He does the voice over for those nurse uni-ads) was really really cute and awesome, he was a total clown on stage and everyone liked him. And he was really cute >_>

All in all SuperNova was a total blast, and we already have the next few years planned out XD

I'm going to Wai-con '10 as Larxene (re-doing her properly this time) and my friend is going as Holo from Spice and Wolf. Then at SuperNova next year we're gonna go as an Inuyasha group. My friend is going as Sango (She even got a hiraikotsu made for her!) and I'm going as Miroku, which will test my poor non-existent wig styling skills! My other friends are SUPPOSED to be coming as Kikyou and Inuyasha but they are total butt-heads and one is already thinking of backing out. She'll change her mind in a month, she always does, but its annoying.

Hmm. So yeah 2010 is all planned out and we made a tentative decision on 2011- Devil May Cry and then FF13. I'm really looking forward to going as a big group to Nova '10, but yeah it might not happen.
